ABA Intervention

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science devoted to the understanding and improvement of human behavior with more than 90 years of scientific research. ABA intervention for ASD focuses on systematically breaking down and teaching small, measurable skills one step at a time. Goal areas include language and communication skills, socialization, play, and leisure skills, motor skills, problem solving skills, self-management, and independence. It also focuses on objectively defined, observable behaviors of social significance, it seeks to improve socially significant behavior to a meaningful degree and to demonstrate experimentally that the procedures employed were responsible for the improvement in behavior.

ABA intervention can improve social, communication, and cognitive skills using the principles of reinforcement.  ABA has long been considered the gold-standard treatment for individuals with ASD and developmental disabilities.

The scope of educational curricula is individualized to each child needs depending on the child’s age, challenges, and other factors.

School Support Staff / Shadow Teachers Training

School Support Staff are internationally certified behavior technicians who attend school with the learner’s they serve.  These staff members support their students in a variety of ways, with the ultimate goal being to decrease support as the child increases their ability to participate in and learn from a mainstream classroom.  School Support Staff implement individualized and inclusive programming throughout a child’s school day.

We offer training for School Support Staff under the supervision of a certified master’s level behavior analyst, e.g., BCBA, and we work closely with their learner’s classroom teachers to ensure a cohesive and positive classroom experience for all team members.
