
Christina Peters, Ph.D., BCBA-D, LBA, Consulting Supervisor
Christina Peters, Ph.D., BCBA-D, LBA is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst at the doctoral level working in the field of behavior analysis since 1999. Christina completed her master’s degree in special education at Temple University in 2009 and her doctoral degree in behavioral psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2021.
Christina has extensive experience working in the field. She began her career out of high school in 1999, working for NBA as a Behavior Technician. She worked her way up to Assistant Program Manager; a job which she left in pursuit of her master’s degree at Temple University in Philadelphia under the supervision of Dr. Philip Hineline. While in Philadelphia she worked for several years as Behavior Analyst at RemeD Rehabilitation in Malvern, PA. In that position she worked directly with individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries. In 2013 she left her position at ReMeD to pursue a Ph.D. at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) under the mentorship of Dr. Larry Williams and Dr. Linda Parrott Hayes. During her time at UNR she served in coordination with Satellite Programs in Behavior Analysis, University of Nevada, Reno as the Practicum Supervisor & BCBA Supervisor at the Center for Autism Research at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Practicum Coordinator & BCBA Supervisor with Easter Seals of Southern California. She also served as Assistant Director of Person Centered Assessment, Treatment and Habilitation in Reno, Nevada.
After graduation from UNR, Christina worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Disabilities Studies at Brock University in Ontario, Canada. She left that position to return to Northwest Behavioral Associates as Deputy Director in the summer of 2022.
Christina has served as a member of executive council for the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) and routinely volunteers her time as a Subject Matter Expert for the Behavior Analysis Certification Board®.
Her research interests center around interdisciplinary collaboration both in the basic laboratory and in the domain of applied behavior analysis. Her previous work has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Peters is a credentialed practitioner with most Washington insurance carriers, including Premera, Regence, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, and TRICARE. In addition, Dr. Peters is a Mental Health Professional under NBA’s DDA licensure.
